The words and pictures in this book were carefully chosen and designed to give some direction into what words would be helpful when working on expanding a child’s expressive language as well as improving comprehension. Storytelling and book reading is such a special time spent with a child as they can listen to the rhythm of the words being read, learn new vocabulary, label items in the pictures, and respond to questions about what they are seeing. This can be further enhanced by acting out what is being shown on the pages with toy zoo animals and bubbles. Language growth is best curated in the interaction with others and play! This book in particular focuses on labeling zoo animals, describing them, learning spatial concepts/prepositions, verb forms (present progressive verb forms, regular and irregular past tense forms), exclamations, production of two and three syllable words, and social language. Bubbles and animals bring out excitement and wonder in children of all abilities and it is during this time that helps young learners be able to communicate, respond to questions, begin reading, and find their voice.


What is a Say & Play STORY SACK?
The Say & Play Story Sacks are a mini drawstring bag (4" x 6") filled with 12-15 mini objects/trinkets to pair with the story. The objects make reading more interactive and allow for a variety of language concepts to be easily addressed in speech therapy.
Great to use when asking questions about the story too! Kids love bringing books to life with mini objects!
