At Speech & Smile we offer professional tutoring services individualized to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles. Increase and progress with reading skills! Each child will have a custom-tailored reading plan, materials, parent coaching and progress monitoring. We support reading in many areas of decoding/encoding skills, phonics, reading comprehension, listening comprehension, vocabulary, sentence construction and cohesion. Our tutors use multisensory strategies that engage a child in reading from interest in a book to comprehension of the story. Our professional reading tutors will engage your child in reading and monitor progress. Our tutors are also trained to support ESL readers. We ensure meaningful reading as your child progresses. *Tutoring for other academic areas available upon request.
We take into account individual learning styles and strive to create the most supportive and effective learning sessions.
We do not require formal testing or a diagnosis.
With permission, we can communicate between tutoring and school to receive evaluation information and test scores.

Rates:
A 1-hour session with a professional tutor is $75. This includes reading materials, messaging in between sessions, take home materials and progress monitoring.
Cancellation Policy:
Advanced notice cancellations: Please let me know as far in advance as possible so we can reschedule.
Last-minute cancellation: Cancellations with less than 24-hours notice will be charged for the full session.
*NOTE: Life happens! We get it! All students will have one “free” last-minute cancellation.
Virtual- Online reading tutor sessions are available!
We’ve found that children also thrive in virtual reading sessions as they work 1:1 with their tutor. They are engaged and most importantly, they’re learning to read and spell with flexible scheduling that fits into your routine.
With our convenient online tutoring, you can do more frequent sessions, and get your child caught up more quickly!
REMEMBER- Learning to read can be an overwhelming process—especially for students that struggle to maintain their attention and/or have a learning disability. Many typical school curriculums are designed with a group of average students in mind. They will then cater their teaching styles to those students, which means others might have more difficulty learning and staying motivated.
